Edex Recovery Solutions LLC is an investment advisory firm owned jointly by Eden Rock Group and Gottex Fund Management that offers a cost-effective and investor-aligned platform to service and manage portfolios of hedge funds that are winding down. Edex is qualified to assume the role of a replacement manager or, alternatively, it can provide specialist servicing capabilities to investors who have acquired or are planning to acquire individual assets or pools of assets that form part of a funds monetisation strategy.
The Edex servicing platform enables investors to take effective ownership of the management, servicing and disposition of illiquid assets and can enable investors to take direct control over fees and expenses in a liquidation or monetisation strategy.
Edex Recovery Solutions LLC is registered with the SEC under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
Amy Lai Co-President
Amy has over 24 years' experience in trading and structuring in interest rates, equities, emerging markets, and credit derivatives. She began her career at J.P. Morgan in 1989 in fixed income derivatives, where she traded interest rate swaps and options and ran the U.S. dollar swaps book in 1993 - 1994. From 1994 to 1996, she was the Head of Emerging Markets Derivatives Trading at Lehman Brothers. In 1996, she returned to J.P. Morgan, where she was responsible for marketing and structuring equity derivatives. From 1998 to 2000, Amy was co-head of trading for Latin America and Asia credit derivatives for Deutsche Bank in London. In 2000, she became a partner with Emergent Capital, a US equity hedge fund, responsible for its public equity portfolio. Prior to joining Gottex, she was a Portfolio Manager at the Clinton Group, responsible for credit arbitrage and capital structure trading in the investment grade and high yield markets. At Clinton Group, she was also Co-Head of Risk Management from 2004 - 2005. Amy graduated magna cum laude from Barnard College with a BA in Economics, and is a CFA charter holder.
George O'Dowd Co-President
George has over 25 years' experience in the structured finance market, specialising in credit derivatives and mortgage-backed securities in the US. Most recently, he was head of structured credit trading for the NY office of Nomura Securities with responsibility for structuring and distributing CDO and CPPI product. Prior to that, George was the NY head of Credit Trading for Commerzbank. He has worked on arbitrage and bank balance sheet CDOs at J.P. Morgan and was part of the group that developed the first securitisation of CDS at Swiss Bank in 1997. Previously, George was involved with US mortgage-backed securities structuring and investing at Alliance Capital and Hyperion Capital Management in NY. George has both a BSc and an MSc in Management Science from the MIT Sloan School of Management. George joined Eden Rock in May 2007, he is an investment committee member and oversees all US activities of the firm as well as Edex Recovery Solutions.
Peter Cejas Managing Director
Peter has more than 14 years' of experience in investment management; securities; international corporate finance; mergers and acquisitions; and general corporate law. Prior to joining Edex, he served as ABL Portfolio Manager and legal counsel for Weston Capital Management, focusing primarily on the divestiture of a $150M portfolio of illiquid assets. Prior to that, Peter served as General Counsel to U.S. and LATAM focused hedge funds and financial institutions. Peter began his career practicing with a boutique law firm specialising in offshore variable insurance products and later at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP where he represented U.S. and non U.S. investment advisers and private and international investment funds, including hedge funds, private equity funds, mezzanine funds, emerging market funds and non U.S. mutual funds. Peter holds a BS in Managerial Economics from the University of California at Davis, a JD from Golden Gate University School of Law and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of International Management.
Eric Kamisher Managing Director
Eric has more than 25 years' of experience and for over a decade he has served as Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Whitecap Advisors LLC. Whitecap is the investment manager to a number of credit hedge funds focused on direct collateralised lending and asset backed investment products (over $2B of transactions since 2002). Eric has overseen all aspects of the firm's asset origination, underwriting, structuring, investment monitoring, workouts and portfolio risk management. He has directly originated, structured, and executed a wide range of transactions across many asset classes, including real estate, consumer finance and corporate finance. Prior to founding Whitecap, Eric served as Managing Director of Aurum Capital, a venture capital firm focused on early stage technology investments. Aurum's portfolio included investments in over 30 companies across the information technology, media and healthcare sectors. Eric began his career as a corporate finance attorney at the firm Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle in New York City. He serves on the Board of the Fairfield Theatre Company. Eric was a Lehman Graduate Fellow at Columbia University's School of International Affairs and received his JD from the University of Denver.
Lauren Duggans Director
Lauren has over 13 years' of experience in HR and Office Management within the financial services industry. Prior to joining Edex Recovery Solutions LLC, she was the Human Resources Director at a $1.2B hedge fund located in Connecticut. During her tenure there, she was responsible for the implementation of HR policies and objectives, employee relations, recruiting and organisational development. Lauren is a former employee of UBS Financial Services, where she served as a Branch Technology Liaison and Client Service Associate. She holds her Human Resource Management Certification and is currently pursuing a BSc in Business with a concentration in Human Resource Management.
Kim Morabito Director
Kim is a licensed Notary Public in the State of Connecticut and has over 15 years' experience in the legal field, most recently focusing on corporate restructuring, company compliance, asset recovery and litigation. Prior to joining Edex Recovery Solutions LLC, she was employed as a Trust and Estate Administration Paralegal for a large, prestigious law firm. Kim worked closely with high net worth individuals with assets of as much as $100M and was responsible for the preparation of fiduciary accountings, federal and state tax returns and court documents. She has her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Western Connecticut State University.
Maria Elena Greene Director
Maria Elena has over 30 years' experience in commercial lending and back office operations. Maria Elena began her career at MHT in 1980 where she worked in Cash Management. Prior to joining Edex Recovery Solutions LLC, Maria Elena spent over 20 years with the New York office of Banca Intesa where she headed up the Loan and Credit Administration. Maria then joined an Asset Based Lending fund where she oversaw the fund loan management and reporting systems. She has an Associate degree in Business Administration from Elizabeth Seton College in New York.
Tim Leonard Director
Tim is a Certified Public Accountant with over 20 years' experience. He began his career at KPMG as a Senior Manager and has also held several positions at General Electric including Assistant Controller of the GE Money business, Manager of Reporting at GE Equipment Finance business, and Manager of Reporting at GE Capital Services. Prior to Edex Recovery Solutions LLC, Tim was the Controller of an Asset Based Lending Fund and was responsible for all aspects of Controllership. He has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from The State University of New York at Albany.
Ana Valderrama Director
Ana is a licensed notary in the State of Connecticut and has 20 years' experience with servicing commercial and residential real estate loans. She began her career at Peoples United Bank (formerly Peoples Bank) in 1993, where she serviced both permanent and construction loans. Prior to joining Edex Recovery Solutions LLC, Ana joined the real estate department of a multi-million dollar hedge fund. During her time there she expanded her real estate and commercial loan experience to include workout strategies and judgment and litigation management.
Alexander Perez Director
Alexander has over 9 years' of experience in the investment management industry specialising in the areas of financial analysis, asset valuations, business operations, financial reporting, fund accounting, and general portfolio administration. Prior to joining Edex Recovery Solutions LLC, he served as Fund Controller/Portfolio Analyst for Weston Capital Management, focusing primarily on the divestiture of a $150M portfolio of illiquid assets. Alexander also served as Head of Finance for Quantek Asset Management and Fund Accounting Manager and Performance Analyst at United Capital Asset Management. He began his career in various management roles in the area of business administration in finance and accounting for an S&P 500 retail company. Alexander holds a BA in Business Management and a MS in Finance from Florida International University in Miami.
